Skills Testing: Skills challenges at various levels will be given to all DCSA players. Professional, written evaluations will be provided and performance results will be tracked from season to season in an attempt to evaluate and assist our players, trainers, and club as a whole.
Player Training: In order to create consistency in training and to promote the most optimal training atmosphere, our club trainers and coaches will review the new DCSA Player Development Manual and make sure that all areas of technical, tactical, and physical requirements are being met for their particular age group. Constant feedback will be given to players and parents so that every child will have an equal opportunity to excel. Additional weekly training sessions, conducted by nationally licensed trainers, will also be available for all ages and skill levels. These sessions will consist of technical and tactical topics, with an emphasis on proper form, quick decision-making, and creativity.
Camps: DCSA will conduct a pre-season camp during the summer and winter months as well as optional team building camps which will combine top notch training with muscular and cardiovascular development, team outings, and team social events. For those players who wish to stay active in soccer year round, specialized clinics (offensive, defensive, creative footwork, goal keeper) will be offered along with individual opportunities for one on one training with our knowledgeable staff.
College Prep: College Seminars will be offered to all Juniors and Seniors. Topics such as contacting a college, training for the collegiate level, creating a soccer resume/highlight video, and considerations regarding large versus small schools will be discussed.
Trainers/Coaches: All trainers and coaches will have access to a Resource Library which will include books, articles and videos regarding various soccer topics. Coaches will also have the opportunity to have the Technical Director come out to a practice and address various practice topics. Coaching classes will be offered to Rec coaches to discuss such topics as teaching curriculum, proper practice progressions, and coaching methods as well. ASSISTANCE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL COACHES who wish to utilize our vast array of resources to improve their team.
Select Player Identification: The DCSA Select staff will attend various Rec games and advise coaches of any players who show the potential to play at the Select level. A Rec All-Star team will be made for each age group and a fun, end of season game will be played between that All Star Rec team and the lowest level Select team in that particular age group (or the age group below.)
Standards of Excellence : New policies regarding player and spectator expectations will be made available to all DCSA members. These policies are intended to provide a roadmap to success for all players by instilling a sense of responsibility, commitment, and pride in every soccer player and parent associated with our club. Please click here to view the DCSA Standards of Excellence. This, along with our age specific coaching curriculum, will be the springboard to success for all players in the club. Please see your team coach for a copy of the new Player Development Manual and Curriculum.
